I've experienced that too - and that's how I felt!
Talking about emotions needs to be learned - with this domino it's very playful! Each card is divided in two: one half shows a symbol that represents a feeling, the other contains an everyday scene, for example a laughing child on the swing. For each scene, children can line up a symbol that they think fits - there are no wrong answers! When they then explain why they think it belongs together, they automatically practice assigning feelings to situations. Of course, your own experiences also flow into the conversation. This is how playful emotional work succeeds!
Promoting empathy: A feeling game for children aged four and over
Sunshine, heart or stop hand: what do the children associate with these symbols? Which scene would you place them in? The picture cards of the domino game offer countless possible variations. In this way, each child can create personal combinations based on their own experiences.
The teacher then has the opportunity to start a conversation about feelings and sensations with the child or the group. This results in informal conversations about emotions and experiences that move. A playful approach to the big topics of empathy and feelings!
